Eclipse 2024 Nasa Map

Interactive Google Map Charts Path of 2024 Solar Eclipse Across the US

NASA's Animated Globe Maps Path of Celestial Event

Visualizations Offer Insights into Eclipses' Paths and Timing

An interactive Google map created by NASA is providing a detailed visualization of the path of the total solar eclipse that will occur on April 8, 2024. The map, which can be accessed through NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio (SVS), shows the full paths of both the 2023 annular eclipse and the 2024 total eclipse.

The map includes a globe showing the full paths of the eclipses in yellow and black (2023) and purple and black (2024). The total solar eclipse will be visible along a narrow track stretching from Texas to Maine on April 8, 2024. A partial eclipse will be visible throughout all 48 contiguous US states.

The interactive map allows users to zoom in and out on the path of the eclipse, as well as view the stages of the eclipse at different locations along the path. The northern and southern path limits are shown in blue, while the central line is shown in red.

In addition to the interactive map, SVS also offers a variety of other resources on solar eclipses, including downloadable versions of the map and information on the science behind eclipses. These resources can be found at the following link: https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/4803
